MY JOURNEY FROM STRUGGLE TO HAPPINESS
My story is not a story you will hear every day, here it is in short.
CHAPTER ONE
BM647 – A REPLAY OF MY GRANDPARENTS
My grandparents escaped the Chinese communists and settled in Vietnam. I was born there around the time the war was about to end. War for us produced not only destruction but also left us with lost loved ones, tragedies, and suffering. It also left us with Communist Party leadership.
For many, Communist Party leadership bears little significance. After the war, the Communist Party prophecy was to achieve equality for all. This wasn’t real. Instead, they seized wealth from entrepreneurial Chinese and other successful business owners to benefit the Party. They controlled who stayed at your house overnight and where you traveled. The penalty for violating these inhumane rules was death. The choice we faced was being shot at the scene of the alleged violation or being taken away never to be seen again; this wasn’t our choice. Being of Chinese descent, we felt targeted, insecure and threatened. We decided to leave at a time when the Communist Part declared it illegal to leave Vietnam. We choose a dangerous, uncertain boat trip to the island of Pulau Bidong, Indonesia, on boat BM647, escaping for a better future.
Leaving on 647 involved the risk of Communist Party imprisonment. Rough South China Seas threatened our overcrowded boat. Pirates intent of preying on defenseless refugees stole our food and water. A parallel life experience to my grandparents.
Having escaped with our lives and survived the journey to Pulau Bidong, our destiny now lay in the hands of the United Nations….what now?
CHAPTER TWO
WELCOME TO THE US – NOBODY IS BROKEN
In October 1987 we arrived in the US with intense life-threatening experiences casting long shadows on our future prosperity.
Arrival in the US brought its own challenges. Unable to speak the language, different belief systems, and family values, challenges to assimilate in a foreign country, the uncertainty of the future, unfamiliar surrounds and a sense of confusion of where I truly belong “Where is home?” Trying to forget the past, and move on with life.
With a lifetime of challenges by the age of 13, what could the future possibly hold for me? Motivated by the hope of a more rewarding life I enrolled in workshops provided by the world’s prominent positive thinking leaders. They changed me, but months later sustained life changes eluded me – I thought I was broken….. there had to be more.
Michelle Masters was a milestone in this journey of discovering a rewarding life. When Michelle said "Nobody is broken, nobody is stupid. We all have patterns that are not working for us. We just need to revise them." I knew I was in the right place. I remember that moment vividly, I won't forget how happy I was for being wrong about life. Michelle was speaking to the subconscious mind, where patterns formed by those life-threatening experiences are stored and replayed. You know, the ones that block you from achieving what you want. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what inspired me and led to sustained changes through immersing myself in transformational Neuro-Linguistic Programming.
CHAPTER NOW
Living Life - And you can too
With many life limiting patterns revised the world and life are both so very different now. The struggles established through experiencing war, Communist Party persecution, the journey on BM647 are transformed for the better now. Life is fulfilling, rewarding and thriving.
Today, my goal is to use my knowledge and experience with those that don't want to settle for continuous struggles, to help them remove the mind-blocks that have been there for many years and have the life fulfillment that they want.
As a certified transformational Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner and Family Constellation facilitator I help clients worldwide to remove lifelong struggles and mind-blocks, you know, the ones that have prevented you from having the success you want, the confidence to speak in front an audience or the business growth you hoped and dreamed of.
Above all, life is better, and I am here to help you overcome your own struggles and mind-blocks.
